QICS scholarship grant
In the framework of student mobility supported by Sorbonne University, the Quantum Information Center Sorbonne (QICS) awards mobility grants to M1 and M2 students in physics or computer science at Sorbonne University and whose thematic corresponds to the scientific scope of the QICS
These scholarships, which cannot be combined with other scholarships offered by SU, are subject to the prior approval of QICS Steering Committee. Applications are evaluated on an ongoing basis.
These scholarships can support the following activities:
- Students originating from foreign universities registered in Sorbonne Université’s quantum information master
- Students registered in a foreign university and coming in Sorbonne Université to follow some quantum information courses
- Participation to thematic schools (summer schools, spring schools, etc.)
All countries outside France are eligible.
The amount of grants depends on various parameters and is aligned to international scholarships awarded by the Faculty of Science and Engineering of Sorbonne Université. For grants financing thematic schools, the amount is assessed on a case-by-case basis.
How to apply
If you are applying to study at Sorbonne University, in addition to your application received for the master, please provide a simple letter responding to the questions below:
- how does your scientific achievements (grades, internships, conferences, publications, etc.) justify the awarding of a grant?
- why is this scholarship necessary for you (social/family/economic context and also efforts, even unsuccessful, to finance your study)?
- please, specify the university of your bachelor/license degree and master 1
- please, specify the master you are applying for; M1 computer science - quantum information or physics - quantum information or PPM or M2 computer science - quantum information or physics - quantum information.
If you are applying for some teaching courses or thematic school, please provide with:
- curriculum vitae and course transcript
- recommendation letter
- and motivation letter responding to both questions; how does your scientific achievements (grades, internships, conferences, publications, etc.) justify the awarding of a grant? Why is this scholarship necessary for you (social/family/economic context and also efforts, even unsuccessful, to finance your study)?
- please, specify the university you are currently studying in

In both cases, an interview may be organized in case the steering committee shall need more information.
ATTENTION ! The QICS is offering the possibility to apply at two different period
Deadline to apply to 1st session is May the 6th. Response by the end of May.
Deadline to apply to 2nd session is June 1st. Response for mid-June
Application starts beginning of April
Pay attention to the fact that QICS grant application is not linked to masters application. So please make sure to respect the QICS GRANT deadlineS even if you do not yet received responses from the masters you applied for.
