DOCTORAL CAMPAIGN OF THE INSTITUTES AND INITIATIVES
In the framework of the Institutes and Initiatives of the Sorbonne University Alliance (ASU), a campaign to award doctoral contracts funded by the French Initiative of Excellence (Idex) has been launched in January 2021.
As for 2020, QICS is offering two thesis scholarships. Among the many projects received, QICS has chosen to retain 6 projects, of which the details are as follows:
- Realizing arbitrary quantum operations on a mechanical oscillato
- Complex quantum Networks for quantum machine learning protocols
- MecaFlux
- Peignes de fréquences quantiques pour des protocoles d'information quantique
- Quantum Hamiltonian Complexity and Derandomization
- Impact of quantum computers on Impagliazzo’s five worlds
Next deadlines :
- Until May 3: submission of applications by students
- Until May 21: audition of the candidates
- May 24: announcement of results

« Les exploratrices de l’infiniment petit » describes these women researchers who not only participate but are at the heart of the "quantum revolution" in France and Europe. In this article published in Le Point on March 18, you will find portraits of 10 women, including Eleni Diamanti and Elham Kashefi, both members of QICS.
MT180s – FINAL SORBONNE UNIVERSITY 2021
On Friday, March 19, 18 new candidates took part in the Ma thèse en 180 secondes contest. The principle of this contest: doctoral students must present their thesis topic in 3 minutes to a non-expert audience.
Two QICS members have been selected to participate in the final at Sorbonne University of #MT180. Congratulations to Thibaut Lacroix who won the 2nd prize of the jury and a big congratulation to our two candidates for their high quality performance!
LES MARGARET & LES MARGARET JUNIOR 2021 PRIZES
Pr. Elham Kashefi received, on March 8th, the Margaret & Margaret Junior Prize, category "intrapreuneur Europe".
Launched in 2013 by the JFD, the Margaret Prize rewards each year women entrepreneurs and intrapreneurs in Europe and Africa, whose projects and innovations respond to the major challenges of our society.
Through the Margaret Prize, JFD supports the growth and international influence of startups and business initiatives led by European and African women.
Elham Kashefi, Director of Research at CNRS/LIP6 and member of QICS receives this award in 2021 for her research activity and the creation of the startup VeriQloud Ltd.
